Important game to mention about took place in San Giorgio. Thirteenth ranked Padova (2-3) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging second-ranked Sangiorgese (3-2) 74-71 on Sunday evening. Padova made 25-of-30 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Sangiorgese turnovers. Sangiorgese was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Enrico Crosato (194-85) nailed 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and naturalized Dominican guard Jean Carlos Canelo (188-89) accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Padova players scored in double figures. Forward Daniele Mario Benzoni (196-80) came up with 26 points and power forward Alessandro Priuli (200-86, agency: Players Group) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Sangiorgese in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Padova moved-up to ninth place in B, which they share with Vicenza and Desio. Sangiorgese at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Milano Urania and Varese Coels.. Padova will play against Moncalieri (#17) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sangiorgese will play against Volpino (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
