Regular Season Round 4: Sammic ISB - Cambados 88-76

Very expected game in Azpeitia where 9th ranked Cambados (1-3) was defeated by fifth ranked Sammic ISB (3-1) 88-76 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Sammic ISB. Cambados was better in second period 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Sammic ISB won last quarter 24-14. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Cambados' 40. Sammic ISB looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (209-90, college: De Paul) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and French-American forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St.) who added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Sammic ISB's coach Iker Bueno used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Austrian forward Maximilian Hopfgartner (206-92, college: John Brown) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and Argentinian guard Juan Martin Orellano (190-89) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Cambados players scored in double figures. Sammic ISB have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Granada and Lucentum. Cambados lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with three games lost. Sammic ISB will face Blancos de Rueda (#13) in Valladolid in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cambados will play at home against Clinicas Rincon (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
