There was an upset in Barcelona where higher ranked Masnou (2-3) was defeated by tenth ranked Barbera (1-4) 77-71 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 19-7 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Barbera dominated on the defensive end, holding Masnou to just 7 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Masnou 38-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Masnou was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Jose Bernuz (198-81) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and Albert Mas (190-87) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Masnou will play against Sant Nicolau (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
