Regular Season Round 2: COR-Borisfen - Impuls BGUIR 91-53

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Impuls BGUIR (1-1) in Mogilev on Tuesday night. Visitors were rolled over by COR-Borisfen (2-0) 91-53. The game without a history. COR-Borisfen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Impuls BGUIR's 22. COR-Borisfen forced 26 Impuls BGUIR turnovers and outrebounded them 48-32 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Impuls BGUIR helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Evgeni Sugonyako (199-92) had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Ukrainian center Maksym Kozlovets (205-90) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four COR-Borisfen players scored in double figures. The former international guard Maksim Shustov (186-86) responded with 20 points and power forward Anton Vashkevich (204-94) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. COR-Borisfen is looking forward to face Tsmoki II (#3) in Minsk in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Impuls BGUIR will play on the road against Vitebsk and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
