Regular Season Round 7: Sallen - Mark Basket 79-82

Important game to mention about took place in Uppsala. Sixth ranked Mark Basket (3-3) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Sallen (4-3) 82-79 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sallen. Sallen was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Mark Basket made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game, while Sallen only scored seven points from the stripe. Mark Basket forced 20 Sallen turnovers. Sallen was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for Spanish forward Grace Alonso de Armino (178-92, college: Freed-Hardeman) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. American guard Brittany Wilson (170-92, college: Colorado) accounted for 22 points for the winning side. American guard Tiffany Brown (165-86, college: Georgia South) came up with 21 points and 5 rebounds and forward Adriana Camber (174-97) added 14 points respectively for Sallen in the defeat. Mark Basket maintains sixth place with 3-3 record. Sallen at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Visby. Mark Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sallen will play on the road against Visby Ladies (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
