Regular Season Round 7: Akropol - Fryshuset 51-65

Fryshuset has finally registered their first victory this season after six consecutive loses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Spanga, where they defeated Akropol (0-6) 65-51 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 23-7 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Fryshuset dominated on the defensive end, holding Akropol to just 7 points in second and fourth quarters. Fryshuset forced 29 Akropol turnovers. Guard Ozlem Alkan (174-90) fired 12 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Forward Senait Ghebremeskel (186-95) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Katarina Milenkovic (182-91) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and point guard Maria Melkon (165-89) added 15 points and 5 steals respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fryshuset (1-6) left bottom position moving up to ninth place. It was Akropol's sixth loss in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Fryshuset will meet higher ranked Telge (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Akropol will play against Alvik Basket (#8) in Stockholm and hopes to get finally their first victory.
