The most exciting game of round 4 in the NBL took place in Melbourne. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of their biggest opponent Perth Wildcats (4-2) to top-ranked United (7-0) 75-73 in the game for the first place. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 23-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Perth Wildcats outrebounded United 52-28 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Sudanese forward Majok Majok (206-92, college: Ball St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Chris Goulding (192-88) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four United players scored in double figures. United's coach Dean Demopoulos used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The former international power forward Matthew Knight (204-85, college: Loyola Mary) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and the former international forward Shawn Redhage (203-81, college: Arizona St.) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Perth Wildcats. United have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-0 record. Perth Wildcats at the other side keep the second place with two games lost. United are looking forward to face New Zealand Breakers (#4) in Auckland in the next round. Perth Wildcats will play at home against Townsville Crocodiles and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
