The game was mostly controlled by Conquero. Socinsa Bembibre was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Conquero won last quarter 23-8. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Socinsa Bembibre to just 7 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Socinsa Bembibre 41-27 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Conquero brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American center Talia Caldwell (188-91, college: California) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. Nigerian-American forward Adaora Elonu (185-90, college: Texas A&M, agency: Josep and Nicolas) accounted for 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Conquero players scored in double figures. Conquero's coach Gabriel Carrasco allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Power forward Rita Montenegro (188-82) came up with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Irish guard Orla O'Reilly (182-90, college: Binghamton, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Socinsa Bembibre in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Conquero. They moved-up to fourth place. Socinsa Bembibre at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Conquero's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Argon Uni Girona on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Socinsa Bembibre will play against Gernika and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
