Regular Season Round 8: Ammerud Bskt - Centrum 93-84

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Ammerud Bskt as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Ammerud Bskt defeated 6th ranked Centrum in Oslo 93-84. Centrum trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 24-22 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 84-93 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Centrum 45-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Ronald Timus (196-84, college: Morgan St.) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import guard Mookie Rivelino (194-84, college: Quincy) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Rivelino is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American Torgrim Sommerfeldt (198-89, college: Manhattan) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard Harald Frey (182-97) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Four Ammerud Bskt and five Centrum players scored in double figures. Centrum's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Centrum at the other side dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
