Regular Season Round 11: Hiroshima L. - Kanazawa Samuraiz 84-114

The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Kanazawa Samuraiz's (5-5) road victory over 10th ranked Hiroshima L. (1-8) 114-84 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Kanazawa Samuraiz. Hiroshima L. was better in third quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kanazawa Samuraiz dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Hiroshima L.'s 48 and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Hiroshima L. 42-25 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Kanazawa Samuraiz especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Hiroshima L.'s players. American players dominated also this game. Power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Forward Marshall Brown (200-85, college: Missouri) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five Kanazawa Samuraiz players scored in double figures. Kanazawa Samuraiz's coach Yukinori Suzuki felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and forward Adam Herman (199-91, college: Concordia, OR) added 25 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hiroshima L.Kanazawa Samuraiz moved-up to eighth place. Newly promoted Hiroshima L. dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. Kanazawa Samuraiz will have a break next round. Hiroshima L. will play again at home against Kanazawa Samuraiz (#8) and hope to win that game.
