Regular Season Round 2: Poitiers - Bourg 76-87

Very predictable result when JL Bourg (2-0) beat on the road Poitiers (0-2) 87-76 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by JL Bourg. Poitiers was better in third quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JL Bourg looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American Brian Asbury (201-86, college: Miami, FL) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import center Zachery Peacock (203-87, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 24 points. Four JL Bourg players scored in double figures. American-British power forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: Le Moyne) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and American-Dominican Jeff Greer (196-79, college: Rutgers) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. JL Bourg will face Saint-Quentin (#17) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Poitiers will play against ALM Evreux (#5) and hope to win that game.
