Regular Season Round 7: Caen - Blois 60-70
Date: October 30, 2015
Very predictable result when second ranked ADA Blois (6-1) beat on the road 12th ranked Caen (2-5) 70-60. It looked good early as Caen took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then ADA Blois had a 24-5 second period charge getting the lead and Caen was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 60-70. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Caen to just 5 points in second quarter. ADA Blois forced 21 Caen turnovers. 27 personal fouls committed by Caen helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Richie Gordon (203-89, college: W.Carolina) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). British-Ghanian center Eric Boateng (208-85, college: Arizona St.) accounted for 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. American power forward Marvin Phillips (203-83, college: Claflin) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import center Ian Caskill (208-81, college: JMU) added 6 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Caen in the defeat. Caen's coach Herve Coudray tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for ADA Blois. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Lourdes and Rueil. Newly promoted Caen keeps the twelfth place with five games lost. ADA Blois' next round opponent will be Berck (#11) at home and are hoping to win another game. Caen will play against GET Vosges in Golbey and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
