Regular Season Round 4: Kings - Crocodiles 87-78
Date: October 30, 2015
There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Kings (2-5) beat bottom-ranked Townsville Crocodiles (2-6) in Sydney 87-78 on Friday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-14. But Townsville Crocodiles won second period 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kings made 9 blocks. Townsville Crocodiles were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for the former international power forward Julian Khazzouh (209-86) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 9 rebounds and 6 blocks (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international guard Jason Cadee (186-91) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Kings players scored in double figures. American guard Jordair Jett (188-91, college: St.Louis) replied with 22 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Nicholas Kay (205-92, college: Metro St.) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Townsville Crocodiles. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kings maintains seventh position with 2-5 record. Loser Townsville Crocodiles dropped to the bottom place with six games lost. Kings will face higher ranked Adelaide 36ers (#3) in Findon in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Townsville Crocodiles will play on the road against the league's second-placed Perth Wildcats (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
