Regular Season Round 4: AZS Koszalin - Torun 58-67

There was no surprise when 9th ranked AZS Koszalin (2-3) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Twarde Pierniki (4-1) 67-58 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 9 points. American point guard Danny Gibson (177-84, college: S.Indiana) fired 15 points and 6 assists for the winners. Ukrainian power forward Maxym Korniyenko (205-87, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 9 points and 11 rebounds. American point guard A.J. Walton (184-90, college: Baylor) produced 12 points and his fellow American import Devon Austin (202-87, college: Manhattan) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Twarde Pierniki moved-up to second place, which they share with Asseco. Loser AZS Koszalin dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Twarde Pierniki will face Slask (#11) in Wroclaw in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AZS Koszalin will play on the road against MKS Start in Lublin and hope to win that game.
