Regular Season Round 5: UCD Marian - Killester 75-84

Very significant was Killester's (#4) 84-75 road victory against 3rd placed UCD Marian. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Killester forced 24 UCD Marian turnovers and outrebounded them 53-31 including a 40-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naturalized American forward Jermaine Turner (195-74, college: Dowling) nailed a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 28 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Ciaran Roe (170-93) accounted for 13 points and 6 assists. Spanish forward Dustan Moreira (202-89) came up with 16 points and 8 rebounds and international point guard Conor Meany (185-86) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for UCD Marian in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Killester have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with UCC Demons. UCD Marian at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with UL Eagles. Killester's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Dublin Swords Thunder.
