Very expected game when bottom-ranked Benidorm (0-4) lost at home to top-ranked Almassera (4-0) 85-78 on Saturday. Benidorm was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Almassera made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for point guard Jose Alfonso Aguilar (185-91) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 5 assists. Forward Jacobo Hofmann (198-92) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Almassera's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Francisco Solsona (198-89) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Joscar Demby (203-88, college: Millikin) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Benidorm. Five Benidorm players scored in double figures. Almassera have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group E with 4-0 record, which they share with Gandia Basquet. Loser Benidorm still closes the standings with four games lost. Almassera will face league's second-placed Gandia Basquet at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Benidorm will play against Sagunto (#8) in Gilet and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
