Very expected game in Gdynia where 14th ranked MKS Start (1-4) was rolled over by sixth ranked Asseco (4-1) 83-52 on Saturday. The game without a history. Asseco led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Asseco outrebounded MKS Start 48-32 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. MKS Start was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Filip Matczak (187-93) fired 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz (201-79) chipped in 7 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Asseco players scored in double figures. American guard Nick Kellogg (190-91, college: Ohio) produced 16 points and 6 rebounds and Ukrainian center Igor Chumakov (207-90) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Asseco moved-up to second place, which they share with Torun. MKS Start lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with four games lost. Asseco will face Anwil (#5) in Wloclawek in the next round. MKS Start will play at home against AZS Koszalin (#10) and hope to win that game.
