Regular Season Round 4: Toyota Alvark - Mitsubishi DD 71-69

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Toyota Alvark as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Toyota Alvark edged 9th ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins in Tokyo 71-69. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mitsubishi Dolphins won fourth quarter 18-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Toyota Alvark (7-0) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Mitsubishi Dolphins lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with four games lost. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play next round against strong Toshiba Thunders trying to get back on the winning streak. Toyota Alvark will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Tochigi Brex on the road.
