Regular Season Round 5: ViVe - Huima 68-76

The game between second ranked ViVe (3-2) and seventh ranked Aanekosken (2-3) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. ViVe was defeated by Aanekosken in a tough game in Vimpeli 68-76. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Aanekosken forced 23 ViVe turnovers. Strangely ViVe outrebounded Aanekosken 48-36 including a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. Center Kenya Robinson (182-70, college: New Orleans) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds for the winners and forward Montia Johnson (185, college: Kent St.) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds. Center Elem Ibiam (193-93, college: S.Carolina, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and swingman Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson) scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Aanekosken maintains seventh place with 2-3 record. ViVe at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Aanekosken are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Pyrinto (#9) in Tampere in the next round. ViVe will play on the road against Peli-Karhut (#8) in Kotka and is hoping to win this game.
