Regular Season Round 5: AZS PS Gliwice - Zaglebie 70-80

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Zaglebie (3-2) won against on the road 4th placed AZS PS Gliwice (2-2) 80-70 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was center Piotr Wojdyr (217-90, agency: Promotex) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Michal Kwiatkowski (186-92, agency: Promotex) chipped in 15 points. Four Zaglebie players scored in double figures. Center Oskar Keller (199-95) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and center Piotr Krupa (204-88) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zaglebie moved-up to third place in Group C, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted AZS PS Gliwice dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. Zaglebie will face Wisla Krakow (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. AZS PS Gliwice will play against Cieszyn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
