Regular Season Round 4: Pordenone - Milano 47-57

Date: October 31, 2015
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Pordenone (3-2) against fourth ranked Milano (3-1) on Saturday night. Host Pordenone was defeated by Milano in Pordenone 57-47. It was a key game for the second position in A2. The game was mostly controlled by Milano. Pordenone managed to win third quarter 16-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Pordenone to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Milano forced 23 Pordenone turnovers. The winners were led by forward Giulia Maffenini (175-92, agency: Two Points) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and British-Portuguese center Lavinia Da Silva (186-88) supported her with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Even 4 points and 9 rebounds by center Lorela Cubaj (191-99) did not help to save the game for Pordenone. Center Sara Madera (186-0) added 8 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Milano moved-up to second place in A2. Newly promoted Pordenone dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. Milano will meet at home Albino (#4) in the next round. Pordenone will play against Carugate in Corugate and hope to secure a win.
