Regular Season Round 5: Pelplin - Trefl II Sopot 71-67

No shocking result in a game in Pelpin where fifth ranked Pelplin (3-2) defeated 10th ranked Trefl II Sopot (1-4) 71-67 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Pelplin outrebounded Trefl II Sopot 51-26 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Bartosz Sarzalo (197-83) who scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Karol Debski (198-84, agency: Promotex) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. Power forward Jakub Czyz (205-95) produced 12 points and 9 rebounds and guard Damian Ciesielski (185-97) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Trefl II Sopot's coach Janusz Kociolek tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Pelplin moved-up to fourth place in Group A, which they share with AZS PGd and Koscian. Loser Trefl II Sopot keeps the tenth position with four games lost. Pelplin will face Koscian (#5) at home in the next round. Trefl II Sopot will play against Basket Pila (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
