Date: October 31, 2015
Soles (3-1) outlasted Jefes (2-2) in overtime by seven points 98-91 on Saturday night. The game took place in Lagunera. But the guests from Mexicali were better at the end. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Jefes. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 23-19 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 7-point victory in overtime. Jefes were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Ghanian-British forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning (205-88, college: Washington) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Puerto Rican guard Joseph Soto (190-93) who added 21 points during the contest. At the losing side power forward Juan Manuel Esteva (196-83) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American-Puerto Rican Javier Mojica (190-84, college: Cent.Conn.St., agency: Paris Global Sports) scored 21 points and 4 steals. Five Soles and four Jefes players scored in double figures. Jefes' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Soles moved-up to fourth place. Jefes at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Soles will face higher ranked Pioneros (#3) in Cancun in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Jefes will play on the road against Panteras in Aguascalientes and hope to win that game.
