Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Bologna and 12th ranked Empoli had identical 1-1 record. This time Bologna used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Empoli 69-56 on Saturday night. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Bologna made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for guard Chiara Mini (165-86) who helped to win the game recording 22 points. Power forward Chiara Cadoni (182-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Czech center Klara Pochobradska (186-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds and guard Francesca Rosellini (176-90) added 15 points in the effort for Empoli. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bologna (2-1) moved-up to sixth place in A2. Empoli at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the ninth position with two games lost. Bologna will face Viareggio (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Empoli will play against Salerno (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
