Regular Season Round 6: Casvi - Alcazar 42-65
Date: October 31, 2015
Very predictable result when sixth ranked Alcazar (2-1) rolled over bottom-ranked Casvi (0-3) in Villaviciosa 65-42 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Alcazar. Casvi was better in second period 14-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Casvi to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Casvi was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for forward Ignacio Diaz (200-87) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Jose Santonja (200-92) contributed with 8 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Forward Walter Cabral (200-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management) replied with 8 points and 15 rebounds and forward Alejandro Fortes (201-90) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Casvi. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alcazar moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Casvi still closes the standings with three games lost. Alcazar will face Torrelodones (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Casvi will play against Estudiantes B (#7) in Madrid and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
