Regular Season Round 7: GKS Tychy - Znicz Basket 87-70

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Znicz Basket (6-1) on the court of eighth ranked GKS Tychy on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by GKS Tychy 87-70. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Znicz Basket. GKS Tychy looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Piotr Halas (190-87) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 5 assists. Point guard Radoslaw Basinski (188-78) helped adding 16 points and 9 assists. Four GKS Tychy players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Damian Janiak (195-89) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and forward Filip Put (201-93) scored 11 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. GKS Tychy (4-3) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Znicz Basket at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. GKS Tychy is looking forward to face Spojnia (#8) in Stargard in the next round. Znicz Basket will play at home against Slask 2 Wroclaw (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
