Regular Season Round 8: Kongsberg - Gimle BBK 69-83

We should mention about the upset which took place in Kongsberg, where higher ranked Kongsberg (3-3) lost at home to tenth ranked Gimle BBK (2-4) 69-83 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kongsberg. The game without a history. Gimle BBK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Kongsberg 41-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 20 rebounds and guard Mikkel Kolstad (184-95) who added 24 points and 6 steals during the contest. American guard Aareon Smith (193-93, college: Mo.-St.Louis) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import guard Brandon Boggs (196-92, college: W.Carolina) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Kongsberg's coach Bard Stoller tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gimle BBK moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Nidaros Jets. Newly promoted Kongsberg keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Gimle BBK will meet bottom-ranked Eidsvoll (#11) in the next round. Kongsberg will have a break next round.
