Regular Season Round 5: Ostrow Mazow. - Stal SW 75-70

Very predictable result in Ostrow Mazowiecki where sixth ranked Ostrow Mazow. (3-2) beat 11th ranked Stal SW (1-4) 75-70 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Ostrow Mazow. forced 20 Stal SW turnovers and outrebounded them 50-39 including a 39-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Ostrow Mazow. made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was swingman Michal Wojtynski (193-89) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 7 steals. Guard Bartosz Grudzinski (186-91) chipped in 5 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. point guard Rafal Partyka (184-79) produced 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Sylwester Konieczny (180-91) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Ostrow Mazow. moved-up to fourth place in Group B. Stal SW lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Ostrow Mazow. will face Tur Bielsk Pdl. (#12) in Bielsk Podlaski in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Stal SW will play on the road against Polonia W-wa in Warszawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
