Regular Season Round 11: Oita H.Devils - Hamamatsu P. 88-102

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Oita Heat Devils (1-7) lost at home to fifth ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (6-3) 102-88 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Hamamatsu Phoenix. Oita Heat Devils was better in fourth quarter 27-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Oita Heat Devils 44-22 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated also this game. Guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia, agency: Haylett Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) contributed with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Hamamatsu Phoenix's coach Tomoya Higashino used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) added 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Oita Heat Devils. Five Hamamatsu Phoenix and four Oita Heat Devils players scored in double figures. Hamamatsu Phoenix moved-up to third place, which they share with Osaka Evessa. Oita Heat Devils lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with seven games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will have a break next round. Oita Heat Devils will play again at home against Hamamatsu Phoenix (#3) and hope to win that game.
