Regular Season Round 11: Fukuoka Rizing - Osaka Evessa 69-96

Round 11 most important game was a victory of Osaka Evessa over 6th ranked Fukuoka Rizing 96-69 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Osaka Evessa. Fukuoka Rizing managed to win fourth quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Osaka Evessa shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Swingman Soma Takuya (181-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 5 rebounds. Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-88, college: Oregon) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. Guard Keisuke Takahata (183-90) answered with 17 points and American forward Bingo Merriex (206-80, college: TCU) added 7 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Fukuoka Rizing. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Osaka Evessa (6-3) moved-up to third place, which they share with Hamamatsu P. Fukuoka Rizing at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Toyama Grouses and Shimane SM. Osaka Evessa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fukuoka Rizing will play again at home against Osaka Evessa (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
