Regular Season Round 4: Trikalla - Nea Kifisia 73-76

The biggest surprise of round 4 was guest Nea Kifisia's (3-1) road victory over one of their biggest challengers Aiolos Trikallon (2-2) 76-73 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-13. But Aiolos Trikallon won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Nea Kifisia forced 21 Aiolos Trikallon turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Aiolos Trikallon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international center Dimitrios Mavroeidis (208-85, agency: Octagon Europe) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American forward Dustin Hogue (198-92, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. British Ovie Soko (201-91, college: Duquesne) produced 21 points and American forward Demitrius Conger (198-90, college: St.Bonaventure) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Nea Kifisia and four Aiolos Trikallon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Nea Kifisia moved-up to third place, which they share with Aris and Olympiacos. Aiolos Trikallon at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with Kolossos and Koroivos. Nea Kifisia is looking forward to face Koroivos (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Aiolos Trikallon will play against Aris in Thessaloniki and is hoping to win this game.
