Regular Season Round 7: Denso Iris - Aishin AW 84-68

There was no surprise in Kariya where 7th ranked Aishin Wings (3-4) were defeated by fourth ranked Denso Iris (5-2) 84-68. The game without a history. Denso Iris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Denso Iris outrebounded Aishin Wings 42-24 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 7 rebounds. International guard Minami Iju (168-90) accounted for 13 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side. The former international center Kyoko Hamaguchi (181-90) came up with 13 points and 5 rebounds and guard Sato Shuhana (160-90) added 13 points respectively for Aishin Wings in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Denso Iris. They maintain fourth place with 5-2 record, which they share with Toyota A. Aishin Wings at the other side keep the seventh position with four games lost. Denso Iris' next round opponent will be again Aishin Wings (#7) in Anjo.
