Regular Season Round 6: Heilongjiang - Xinjiang 58-96

Undefeated leader Xinjiang delivered the sixth consecutive victory. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Heilongjiang Chenneng (0-6) 96-58 in Harbin. It looked good early as Heilongjiang Chenneng took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Xinjiang had a 24-9 second period charge getting the lead and Heilongjiang Chenneng was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 58-96. Xinjiang dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Heilongjiang Chenneng's 46. American center Tina Charles (193-88, college: Connecticut) notched a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Ching Shipeng supported her with 22 points (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). Five Xinjiang players scored in double figures. Even 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by the former international guard YanYan Ji (182-85) did not help to save the game for Heilongjiang Chenneng. American center Vicky McIntyre (201-92, college: ORU) added 14 points and 8 rebounds. Newly promoted Xinjiang maintains first position with 6-0 record. Heilongjiang Chenneng at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Xinjiang's next round opponent will be Shenyang Golden Lions (#3) in Dandong, which may be the game of the day. Heilongjiang Chenneng will play on the road against Liaoning Hengye in Anshan and hopes to get finally their first victory.
