Regular Season Round 6: Guangdong - Henan 81-66

Leader Guangdong Dolphins recorded the fifth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Henan (2-4) 81-66 in Guangzhou. The game was mostly controlled by Guangdong Dolphins. Henan was better in second period 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Henan 40-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Belarusian center Yelena Leuchanka (196-83, college: W.Virginia) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. International forward Sijing Huang (192-96) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Tianna Hawkins (191-91, college: Maryland) who recorded 12 points and 9 rebounds and forward Jie Sun (187-91) added 18 points respectively. Guangdong Dolphins maintains first position with 5-1 record, which they share with Shanghai. Loser Henan keeps the fifth place with four games lost. Guangdong Dolphins will face Jiangsu Phoenix (#4) in Yixing in the next round. Henan will play on the road against Bayi Kylin in Yinzhou and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
