Regular Season Round 5: Palma - Coruna 86-81
Date: November 1, 2015
No shocking result in a game in S'Arenal where eighth ranked Palma (3-2) defeated 12th ranked Leyma Basquet (1-4) 86-81 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-81. Palma made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Ricardo Guillen (207-76, agency: Duran International) who scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Eduardo Duran (190-91, agency: Duran International) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Georgian Beka Burjanadze (202-94) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and center Sergio Olmos (213-86, college: Temple) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Palma and five Leyma Basquet players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Palma moved-up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Leyma Basquet dropped to the thirteenth position with four games lost. Palma will face league's leader Leche Rio Breogan in Lugo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leyma Basquet will play at home against Burgos (#4) and hope to win that game.
