Regular Season Round 4: Crema - Marghera 74-60

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Team Crema and 10th ranked Marghera had identical 1-2 record. This time Team Crema used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Venezia 74-60 on Sunday night. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Team Crema forced 23 Marghera turnovers and outrebounded them 46-23 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for Latvian forward Ieva Veinberga (185-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Alice Mandelli (171-93) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Team Crema players scored in double figures. Guard Erika Striulli (170-90) replied with 14 points, 9 assists and 6 steals and guard Irene Mattiuzzo (165-90) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Marghera. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Team Crema maintains ninth position in A2 with 2-2 record. Newly promoted Marghera dropped to the eleventh place with three games lost. Team Crema will face Virtus Cagliari (#13) on the road in the next round. Marghera will play against San Salvatore and hope to win that game.
