Regular Season Round 12: Saitama Bron. - Niigata Albirex 64-91

Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Saitama Broncos (1-9) were rolled over at home by second ranked Niigata Albirex (8-1) 91-64 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Niigata Albirex. Saitama Broncos was better in fourth quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Niigata Albirex dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Saitama Broncos' 32. They outrebounded Saitama Broncos 40-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Charles Hinkle (196-88, college: American) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) who added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. Niigata Albirex's coach Kazuo Nakamura felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American power forward Evan Harris (206-86, college: Harvard, agency: I.D.S. Law) with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and guard Yuta Kurihara (176-81) scored 14 points. Niigata Albirex keeps a position of league leader. Loser Saitama Broncos keep the twelfth place with nine games lost. Niigata Albirex will face Shinshu BW (#10) in Nagano in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
