Regular Season Round 6: Namika Lr - HyPo 85-48

Very expected game in Lappeenranta where 10th ranked HyPo (1-5) was rolled over by third ranked Namika Lr (6-1) 85-48 on Sunday. The game without a history. Namika Lr led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to HyPo's 26. They outrebounded HyPo 43-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Otto Markkanen (190-90) who scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. American swingman Reginald Bratton (193-86, college: Lenoir-Rhyne, agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Ilkka Blomqvist (196-84) who recorded 11 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Toni Honka (194-84) added 4 points and 11 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Namika Lr moved-up to second place in Division. Newly promoted HyPo keeps the tenth position with five games lost. Namika Lr will face PeU-Basket (#4) in Pernio in the next round. HyPo will play at home against Espoo Basket (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
