Very significant was Maccabi T-A's (#5) 81-73 road victory against one of their biggest challengers Hapoel Holon. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-17. But Hapoel Holon won second period 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Holon was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by naturalized American swingman Sylven Landesberg (198-90, college: Virginia) who scored that evening 21 points and American forward Brian Randle (203-85) supported him with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. Maccabi T-A's coach Guy Goodes allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 26 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Holon. Naturalized American power forward Isaac Rosefelt (204-85, college: St.Thomas) added 9 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Maccabi T-A (3-1) moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Hapoel Holon at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Maccabi T-A will play against Maccabi Ashdod (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Holon will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#10) in Nes Ziyona and hopes to get back on the winning track.
