Regular Season Round 6: Agustinos-Eras - Betanzos 66-40

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Agustinos-Eras as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A-B. Agustinos-Eras smashed one of their biggest challengers Betanzos in Leon 66-40. It was a key game for the top position in Group A-B. The game without a history. Agustinos-Eras led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Betanzos to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 38.2 percent accuracy of the winners. 26 personal fouls committed by Betanzos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Canadian forward Nick Loewen (200-90) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 7 rebounds. American center Kevin Rima (204-92, college: NW Nazarene) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Agustinos-Eras' coach Adrian Alvarez felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Marcos Rozas (202-83) replied with 12 points and 6 rebounds and Jose Miguel Perez added 5 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Betanzos. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 5 other teams. Betanzos at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Betanzos will play next round against strong Estudiantes L. trying to get back on the winning streak. Agustinos-Eras will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Chantada on the road.
