Regular Season Round 12: Fukuoka Rizing - Osaka Evessa 69-77

The game in Fukuoka was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Osaka Evessa (7-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (5-5). Osaka Evessa managed to secure a 8-point victory 77-69. It looked good early as Fukuoka Rizing took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Osaka Evessa had a 17-12 second period charge getting the lead and Fukuoka Rizing was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-77. It was a good game for guard Narito Namizato (172-89) who led his team to a victory with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Blackledge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Bingo Merriex (206-80, college: TCU) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Fukuoka Rizing. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Osaka Evessa moved-up to second place, which they share with Hamamatsu P. Fukuoka Rizing at the other side keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Osaka Evessa's next round opponent will be Takamatsu FA (#9) at home and are hoping to win another game. Fukuoka Rizing will play against the league's leader Okinawa GK and hope to win that game.
