Regular Season Round 4: Wilki Morskie - Trefl Sopot 84-81

Wilki Morskie can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Trefl (0-4) 84-81 on Monday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-19. But Trefl won second period 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Wilki Morskie forced 20 Trefl turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Wilki Morskie especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Korie Lucious (180-89, college: Iowa St.) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 assists and the former international Lukasz Majewski (199-82) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Wilki Morskie players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Tyreek Duren (183-91, college: La Salle) responded with 26 points and 4 assists and Croatian Josip Bilinovac (191-90) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Trefl's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Wilki Morskie (1-3) left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with Stal Ostrow. It was Trefl's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Polpharma. Wilki Morskie will meet higher ranked AZS Polfarmex (#6) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Trefl will play against Polpharma (#16) in Starogard and hopes to get finally their first victory.
