Regular Season Round 4: Elitzur Yavne - Maccabi H/H 90-71

National League top team - Elitzur Yavne (4-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Hasharon (1-3) 90-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hasharon. It looked good early as Hasharon took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Elitzur Yavne had a 23-10 second period charge getting the lead and Hasharon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-90. Elitzur Yavne dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Hasharon's 40. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a very good performance for American Chris Gaston (201-89, college: Fordham) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import forward J'Nathan Bullock (196-87, college: Cleveland St.) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Elitzur Yavne players scored in double figures. American forward Rodney Alexander (201-87, college: Oklahoma City) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and guard Ofir Axebard (-93) added 13 points in the effort for Hasharon. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Elitzur Yavne maintains first position with 4-0 record, which they share with Galil Gilboa and Hapoel G/A. Hasharon at the other side dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. Elitzur Yavne's next round opponent will be Maccabi Raanana (#12) on the road which should be an easy win for them. Hasharon will play against Ironi Ashkelon (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
