An interesting game for Rio Claro (1-0) which hosted in Rio Claro Liga Sorocaba (0-1). Rio Claro had an easy win 82-67. The game without a history. Rio Claro led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a very good performance for guard Fernando Penna (189-83) who helped to win the game recording 9 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international Guilherme Teichmann (206-83, college: Tulsa) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forward Renato Scholz (197-88) answered with 15 points and 9 rebounds and guard Arlindo Neto (187-86) added 8 points and 8 assists in the effort for Liga Sorocaba. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rio Claro will face Paulistano in Sao Paolo in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Liga Sorocaba will play on the road against Winner/Limeira and hope to win that game.
