Regular Season Round 7: Shanxi - Beijing 79-44

The game between second ranked Beijing Great Wall (4-3) and fourth ranked Shanxi Rui Flame (4-3) was the most important one in the last round on Tuesday night. Beijing Great Wall was crushed by Shanxi Rui Flame in Taiyuan 44-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Beijing Great Wall. The game without a history. Shanxi Rui Flame led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Shanxi Rui Flame outrebounded Beijing Great Wall 39-22 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Shanxi Rui Flame especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 75.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Beijing Great Wall's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian forward Penny Taylor (185-81) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Taiwanese guard Zi-Yin Pan (170-92) contributed with 7 points and 7 assists for the winners. American center Sylvia Fowles (198-85, college: LSU) answered with 8 points and 7 rebounds and international forward Ting Shao (183-89) added 9 points in the effort for Beijing Great Wall. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Bayi and Beijing. Shanxi Rui Flame is looking forward to face league's leader Xinjiang in Urumqi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Beijing Great Wall will play at home against Heilongjiang Chenneng and is hoping to win this game.
