No shocking result in a game when third ranked Bayi Kylin (4-3) beat 5th ranked Henan (2-5) in Yinzhou 93-88 on Tuesday. Henan trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 29-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 88-93 at the end of the game. Bayi Kylin made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Bayi Kylin outrebounded Henan 37-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for the former international forward Lu Wen (188-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward MengXin Sun (190-93) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Tianna Hawkins (191-91, college: Maryland) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and the former international forward Xiaoli Chen (193-82) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Henan. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bayi Kylin moved-up to second place, which they share with Beijing and Shanxi. Henan lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with five games lost. Bayi Kylin will face Shandong (#6) in Jinan in the next round. Henan will play at home against Jiangsu Phoenix and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
