Regular Season Round 8: Alvik Basket - Akropol 77-56

Date: November 4, 2015
Bottom-ranked Akropol (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 77-56 loss to seventh ranked Alvik Basket (3-6) in Stockholm on Wednesday evening. The game without a history. Alvik Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Akropol's 26. They outrebounded Akropol 52-25 including a 40-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Alvik Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Akropol's players. Worth to mention a great performance of center Tyra Carlsten-Handberg (186-96) who helped to win the game recording 9 points and 11 rebounds and Anna Lundquist (176-96) who added 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Semra Kilic responded with 18 points and swingman Katarina Milenkovic (182-91) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alvik Basket maintains seventh position with 3-6 record. Loser Akropol still closes the standings with seven games lost. Alvik Basket will meet at home higher ranked Mark Basket (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Akropol will play against Norrkoping Dolphins (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
