Regular Season Round 8: Lapua - Helsinki Seagulls 73-84

Date: November 4, 2015
The most interesting game of round 8 was a home defeat of 8th ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (3-5) to seventh ranked Helsinki Seagulls (4-4) 84-73. Lapuan Korikobrat was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Helsinki Seagulls made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jason Conley (196-81, college: Missouri, agency: Warren Sports International) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Timo Heinonen (198-81, agency: Blacktop Management) who added 20 points during the contest. Conley is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Helsinki Seagulls' coach Mikko Larkas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Dom Morris (201-90, college: Boston U.) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Darien Brothers (190-91, college: Richmond) scored 20 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Helsinki Seagulls have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with BC Nokia and Kauhajoki. Lapuan Korikobrat at the other side dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Helsinki Seagulls is looking forward to face BC Nokia (#4) at home in the next round. Lapuan Korikobrat will play against the league's second-placed Loimaan Korikonkarit (#2) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
