Regular Season Round 8: Visby - Sallen 47-84

The biggest surprise of round 8 in Damligan was guest Sallen's (#4) easy road victory over Visby Ladies (#5) 84-47 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Visby Ladies. The game without a history. Sallen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Visby Ladies to just 5 points in first quarter and to 14 points in first half. They outrebounded Visby Ladies 44-26 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American swingman Christy Bacon (182-80, college: Wyoming) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. The former international forward Malin Edlund (183-88) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Sallen players scored in double figures. American forward Samarie Walker (185-92, college: Kentucky, agency: Two Points) produced 6 points and 12 rebounds and Lithuanian point guard Inesa Visgaudaite (169-91) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Visby Ladies' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Sallen maintains fourth position with 5-3 record. Visby Ladies at the other side keep the fifth place with four games lost. Sallen are looking forward to face Fryshuset (#9) in Stockholm in the next round where they are favorite. Visby Ladies will play at home against the league's second-placed Udominate (#2) and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
