Regular Season Round 8: Shenyang - Liaoning 84-74

The game in Dandong was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Liaoning Hengye (3-5) played at the court of fifth ranked Shenyang Golden Lions (4-4). Shenyang Golden Lions defeated Liaoning Hengye 84-74 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Shenyang Golden Lions. Liaoning Hengye was better in fourth quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Shenyang Golden Lions especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Meng Li (185-95) who helped to win the game recording 37 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (on 15-of-18 shooting from the field) and international swingman Jiabao Jin (184-93) who added 20 points during the contest. American center Kara Braxton (198-83, college: Georgia) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and guard TingTing Wang (175-91) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five Liaoning Hengye players scored in double figures. Shenyang Golden Lions moved-up to third place, which they share with Jiangsu and Shanxi. Loser Liaoning Hengye dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Shenyang Golden Lions will face Heilongjiang Chenneng (#6) in Harbin in the next round. Liaoning Hengye will play at home against Shanxi Rui Flame and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
